Method

We query the public HN Algolia search API for each tool name as an exact phrase, in comments posted since 2024-01-01. "HN comments" is the API hit count. We then read the newest 100 matching comments and count how many use recommendation language. Score = comments × that share. Samples link to the original comments. Generic names (e.g. Arc, Things, Warp) are searched with a qualifier and can still include some noise.
